How it works
Every Two Scoops Web build follows the same web design process, from your first message to launch day and after.
How a build starts
A Two Scoops Web build starts with a short form or an email, a video call about your site, and a contract, with half the price paid to start.
Tell us about your business.
Fill in the short form at Start a build, or email hello@twoscoopsweb.com. We'll email you within one business day, often sooner, to set up a video call.
Talk it through on a video call.
In about 30 minutes, we work out which build fits and what goes in it. If it's Custom, we scope it, write a build plan and then give you a fixed quote. The scoping and the plan are free. The call works the same whether you're in Hawaii, Canada or somewhere else.
Get a contract and an invoice.
If you go ahead, we email you both. You can pay by credit card or bank transfer.
Pay the first half.
Half the price holds your spot. The balance is due before the site goes live.
Nothing is signed or paid until you decide to go ahead. What happens if you cancel or switch packages is on how the contract and invoice work.
Where the words on your site come from
The words on a Two Scoops Web site come from a recorded 30-minute video call and a short form, and we write them up as a draft for you to approve.
It's a second call, after the first half is paid. You talk about your work, and we record it. You'll explain your work better out loud than you would in writing. Coverage gets two calls: one about your business, one about your services and the areas you cover.
The short form takes the basics: hours, prices, service area, certifications and social profiles. If your current site already has words you like, those count too.
Then you read the draft. The build starts the day you approve it. If you want research and writing beyond what you tell us, that's content writing. Say so on the first call, and we quote it before you sign.
Anything shown as real needs a real photo: your team, your work, your shop. Stock photos are fine for a background or to show a service, picked by you. Missing photos never hold up the build. The site goes live with what you have, and more go in later, under Care or as a small quoted change.
How long the build takes
A Two Scoops Web build takes two to three weeks for Discovery and Publisher and four to five weeks for Coverage, counted from the day you approve the written draft.
In those weeks, we design the site for your business and build every page so search engines and AI assistants can read it.
The clock starts at approval because the draft is what we build from. On Custom, the timeline is in the build plan.
They also cover our work on your two rounds of changes. The time you take to put each list together isn't counted.
How changes work before launch
Every Two Scoops Web build includes two rounds of changes before launch, and each round after that is $150.
A round is one list of changes, sent in one message. We make the changes, send the site back, and the round closes. The next round starts once we've sent that one back, so a round can't trickle in over a week.
If we built something wrong against the draft you approved, fixing it is never a round. Neither is correcting a fact.
What happens at launch
A Two Scoops Web site goes live once the balance is paid.
If you're replacing a site, it stays up until the new one goes live, and every old page address points to its new page, so links people saved still work.
We build the website only, so your business email and web address stay in your hands. We go over the web address with you.
Keeping the site online runs about $20 a month, separate from the build price. We set that up for you.
Old addresses, new pages
Example: a made-up site
- /our-services.html/services
- /about-us/about
- /contact-us/contact
What happens after launch
After launch, Two Scoops Web can look after your site with Care, from $100 to $200 a month on the three fixed-price builds, or you can skip Care and we quote changes one at a time.
Care is $100 a month on Discovery, $150 on Publisher and $200 on Coverage, month to month. We check your site is running as it should and handle security updates. Each month, we make the changes you send us in one list, in one message. On Custom, Care is quoted after the build plan and timeline. See Care.
Prices are in US dollars. Hawaii general excise tax is included in every price we charge, and there's no Canadian sales tax on the invoice.
Without Care, or after it ends, we quote changes one at a time, and when your site needs a security update, we email you about it. On Publisher and Coverage, you keep writing your own blog posts either way.
Example: one month's change request, sent as one list
- Update our Saturday hours
- Add the new team photo to the about page
- Fix the typo on the services page
Done for this month
