Two Scoops Web

Custom

A custom website for a business that needs more than our three builds hold, with every page built for people and machines to read.

What Custom is for

Custom is the Two Scoops Web build for sites that need more than 24 pages, or a setup our three fixed-price builds don't cover.

Coverage holds 24 pages on top of the five every build gets. Some sites need more than that: a bigger list of services and towns, or a site that has to do something the three builds weren't made for.

A site in English and French is Custom too. We translate the French pages by machine, then a French Canadian proofreader checks them.

How a Custom build gets its price

Two Scoops Web scopes every requirement of a Custom build, writes a build plan for the project, and then quotes it from that plan.

  1. Scope.

We go through everything the site needs to do, one requirement at a time.

  2. Build plan.

We write a plan for your project: what gets built, and the timeline.

  3. Quote.

We price the build from that plan.

  4. Build.

If you go ahead, we build what the plan says.

The first call is about what you need. A price at that point would be a guess. The quote comes from the plan.

Scoping and writing the build plan are free. Once we give you the quote, it's a fixed price.

What a Custom build can and can't include

A Custom build can include some work with databases or other software, scoped and quoted in the build plan, but never an online store.

We don't build online stores, on Custom or any other build. If you need one, we can point you to someone who builds them.

The same goes for linking your site to software you already use. Some of that work can be done and some can't, and we find out which while we scope it. You see what's in the plan before anything is signed.

If it needs a database, we scope that with everything else, and it goes in the plan and the price.

Custom sites we built

Two Scoops Web built the websites for the Canadian Radon Services Index and Cayzu as Custom builds.

The Canadian Radon Services Index is a dated, sourced index of radon in Canada. It's a big site, built in English and French. It covers testing, what a result means, certified providers and funding programs, and each dataset shows the date it was last updated.

Cayzu is help desk and ticketing software made in Windsor, Ontario. We built Cayzu a new website to replace its WordPress site, and it launches soon.

What every Custom site still gets

A Custom site is built to the same standard as the three fixed-price builds.

  • It's designed for your business, to look good and be easy to use.
  • It's fast and secure.
  • Your words, prices and hours are plain text on the page, which AI tools can read.
  • A plain booking link, an email address and a contact form work for any visitor, including an AI assistant helping your customer.

More pages and more moving parts don't change any of that.

How paying for Custom works

A Custom build is paid in two halves, the same as every build we make: half to start, the balance before the site goes live.

If you go ahead, there's a contract, and the first half starts the build.

Care, where we look after the site, has a set monthly price on the three fixed-price builds. On a Custom site, we quote Care once the build plan and timeline are set, so it fits what we're building. See Care.

See if your site needs Custom

Tell us on a short form about your business and what the site needs to do, and we'll set up a video call about whether Custom is the right build.
